Level Collapse

The Collapse Countdown

The standard 72-hour countdown that begins when the Faction Wars are won — and which nobody will get.

Story so far

Rosetta lays out the normal mechanics: the moment the Faction Wars are won, a seventy-two-hour countdown to level collapse appears and stairwells generate in a ring around the castle's current position, about ten seconds later by Fopsy's reckoning.

The irony is total. Emberus intends to burn the ninth floor within the hour, so the seventy-two hours will never be spent. Carl broadcasts "T-minus sixty-five minutes until level collapse" — the god's clock, not the system's.

Role

The mechanic whose usual three-day grace period is rendered meaningless by a god's ultimatum.

Relationships

Faction Wars — Winning them starts the countdown.
Emberus — His deadline preempts the seventy-two hours entirely.
The Ninth Floor — The level scheduled to collapse.
