Homecoming Queen

The Crest behemoth

Secretly armed Crest behemoth in Earth orbit, now likely the strongest warship above the planet.

Story so far

The Homecoming Queen is a Crest behemoth parked in orbit, and through Faction Wars its only living occupant was York, who called himself the ship's ghost and sometimes turned off the artificial gravity to float in a storage hold with his eyes closed. It creaks and groans and feels haunted. Crest behemoths are not known for defenses, and the Homecoming Queen is the largest ship in orbit, so nobody bothered shooting at it - which suited York, who worked hard to keep its real armament secret.

It is heavily armed, and beyond that carries a full complement of enhancement zone guns and beams that Porthus ordered installed: highly regulated, high-energy weapons that should only function in the center system, expensive and space-consuming enough that even Syndicate security corvettes do not carry them. At the epilogue those weapons read green across the board, making the Homecoming Queen very likely the strongest ship in orbit. It was also the platform for the killing of The Orc Yacht, vaporized by a point-defense NPB while the ship appeared to flee the conflict with the other transports. Now it docks with an onboarding facility to load the returning veterans and their breaching suits, enhancement zone suits and Cronus-class Power Armor.

Appearance

An enormous Crest-built behemoth, the largest vessel in orbit, its corridors empty and echoing, hull creaking and groaning around a single occupant.
