Borant System

Borant · The Borant System

Cascadia's home system, in bloody civil war, where millions just died in a habitation ring disaster.

Story so far

Odette frames Cascadia's condition at the warlord council by noting that her home system is in the throes of what appears to be a bloody civil war. Princess Vinata fills in the detail Odette does not say aloud: the rebels hired The Valtay to help defeat the Bloom forces, the war goes poorly, and the liquid habitation ring surrounding Borant Three was hit by a derelict warship. Millions dead. The news is not public, but Cascadia knows—her former husband and most of her family are among them.

Epitome Tagg later uses the system as a measuring stick when threatening Prince Stalwart, saying the civil war coming for Stalwart will make the Borant system look like a scuffle between toddlers.

Role

Cascadia's collapsing home system and the source of the grief that breaks her at council.
