Three cultural district rings of Larracos, the uppermost on level 50 holding museums and highbrow theater.
Arief explains the city's layout as he leads Carl down: the ring they just left is level 50, known for the College of Larracos, which takes up a third of it. The rest of 50 is the high cultural district and museums. There are three rings called cultural districts, and this one is the uppermost.
Arief gives it a sidelong glance and a verdict: it's more for the fancy folks, if you know what I mean. He went to a play up there once and didn't understand a damn word what anybody was saying. He prefers the biggest theater, the Piccadilly Theater, down in ring nine — though that one is still wet and full of jellyfish. Carl notes that the public streets in this part of the city are strangely bare, most of the visible dots being crawlers rather than residents.
