Story so far
The officer corps that pushes into the Larracos College of Magic courtyard is entirely changelings, marked with Team Retribution indicators that keep Carl from mistaking them for a breakthrough.
The rank also comes with a mechanic that matters more than the muscle: Carl pulls up the officer status screen to check on Louis, finds him at full health, and drills into two status notifications — Paralyzed and Bound. Without the officer screen, nobody would have known Louis was alive at all.
Role
The rank structure providing both the assault's leadership and its casualty visibility.
