Story so far

Named in the Gavrilo Princip! achievement text: because Empress D'Nadia was the last living heir of a small but powerful trading dynasty — and because her death also bankrupted it — the Syndicate probate courts are already preparing themselves for the endless court battles about to ensue.

The sponsor uses them to make a distinction for Carl: killing D'Nadia produces only court-based battles outside the dungeon, which is impact but not chaos. Real chaos, the text argues, would come from killing the The Dream guy, a Viceroys leader, or the Jello-looking investment banker.

Role

The legal machinery whose gridlock is the measurable off-world consequence of D'Nadia's assassination.
