Center System

The Center System

The only region where enhancement zone weapons should function, a rule the resistance has quietly broken.

Story so far

Enhancement zone guns and beams are highly regulated, high-energy weapons that would normally only work in the center system. They are expensive, take up space, and absolutely cannot be used outside it, which is why not even Syndicate Security Corvettes bother carrying them.

Porthus had them installed on the Homecoming Queen anyway and predicted the Enhancement Zone suits would work too. In Earth orbit — far from the center system — every one of those systems now reads green, quietly overturning the assumption that made them safe to ignore.

Role

The regulatory heart of Syndicate space, whose weapons restrictions have just been broken elsewhere.

Relationships

Enhancement Zone — The only place its weapons should function
Porthus — Armed a ship outside it with center-system weapons
Homecoming Queen — Carries such weapons far from the center system
