Lockjaw

the Lockjaw mercenary

Madness mercenary Carl seals alone in the Prism throne room with a chair and snacks to sow discord.

Story so far

Among the mercenaries Carl inherits from the Prism castle is a Lockjaw belonging to The Madness. Rather than march him out, Carl leaves him alone in the throne room with a dropped-off chair and some snacks, under strict orders not to leave for six hours unless someone physically forces him out. Carl then shuts the door and places a freeze trap directly in front of it.

The scheme is aimed at the throne-room ownership timer: with a Madness mercenary holding the seat, the surrounding land can't quietly fall to the The Viceroys, and the other The Bloc warlords are forced to make a decision. Carl expects Epitome Tagg to usurp poor Lockjaw out of the room, which should in turn infuriate Architect Houston and the Madness — sowing exactly the discord Carl wants among leaders he suspects don't like each other much.

Role

Unwitting placeholder occupant of a contested throne, used as a wedge between rival warlords.
