Story so far
The first thing Carl sees on waking is a goblin aiming a gun at his head and pulling the trigger. The goblin freezes, the gun does not go off, and the word Naughty appears over his head.
It happens again once the Minor Quorum locks the room down: a second and third mercenary — large bugbear-looking creatures Carl has never seen before — try to fire at him and all get paused. Naughty is the AI's blunt, automatic enforcement of The Ceasefire, punishing the attempt rather than waiting for the harm.
