Syndicate Entertainment Authority

SEA

Body that charges roughly 30,000 credits per program rename, making the feed directory loophole possible.

Story so far

Odette names the Syndicate Entertainment Authority when explaining how the Feed Directory Loophole works. Renaming a tunneling program is possible only if you pay the fee to the Syndicate Entertainment Authority and then pay the Plenty to perform a hot update to the feed. Each name change costs approximately 30,000 credits.

That price is trivial for the off-world teams, every one of which owns at least one entertainment studio and channel, and it lets them push messages into the dungeon at will—Sensation Updates changed names seven times in a single hour for Epitome Tagg. Carl closes the whole scheme down with an Emergency Action Item rather than let it continue.

Role

The licensing authority whose rename fee monetized the off-worlders' backchannel.

Relationships

Feed Directory Loophole — Its rename fee is the mechanism's toll booth.
The Plenty — Paid separately to push hot updates to the feed.
Sensation Updates — Renamed seven times in an hour through its process.
