Reid Gunn

A human mage who helped shield the base, killed in a bunker yet still shown as an active dot on Carl's map.

Story so far

Reid Gunn is one of several human mages who joined the former crawlers in raising the shield over the base. During the paratrooper assault his name appears on the casualty list, but when Carl casts Ping his dot still reads as active, standing with a group of mages in one of the defensive bunkers outside the castle — and as Carl watches, the blue dots beside him turn to X's one at a time.

That contradiction is what cracks the mystery of the Brain Worms for Carl: Reid is dead and still killing, a fresh Gondii host rather than a slow-burn infiltrator. Carl messages Rosetta, who is nearby, and tells her to take him out.

Appearance

A human mage in the base's defensive bunkers, indistinguishable from his living comrades.

Role

Brain-wormed mage whose active-but-dead status reveals the Gondii infiltration to Carl.

Relationships

Carl — Spotted the anomaly and ordered him killed
Rosetta — Sent to eliminate him
Gondii — Worm species riding his corpse
