The drinking hole Ferdinand apparently hasn't left, judging by the smoke and alcohol on him.
When Ferdinand finally stops caroming off the walls of the production facility waiting room, Princess Donut notices what everyone can smell: smoke and alcohol, no hat, and a coat that clearly hasn't been groomed. She starts to ask whether he has left that bar even once since — and doesn't finish the sentence.
The implication hangs over the rest of his scene. Ferdinand's jumpiness, his hostility toward the gnoll guards conducting The Security Check, and his fixation on missing snacks all read as the behavior of a cat who has been living at the bar.
Ferdinand's refuge since the loss Donut declines to name aloud.
