The Unnecessary Microphone

Odette's Microphone · Council Microphone

Prop microphone Odette and Chaco brandish at the council, intangible to anyone who tries to take it.

Story so far

Both Odette and Chaco hold microphones at the warlord council, and Carl flags Odette's as "the unnecessary microphone" when she shoves it at the tiny kua-tin Cascadia. It is a broadcast affectation, not a functional necessity.

It is also not physically present in the room. When Epitome Tagg moves to grab it from Odette's hand, his own hand passes straight through—a small, telling reminder that the host is projected into the chamber rather than seated in it. Odette wields it constantly: shoving it at Cascadia, pointing it at Prince Stalwart, rushing it into Carl's face, forcing it toward Donut.

Appearance

A handheld microphone that looks solid but is intangible—hands pass right through it.

Role

Odette's signature broadcast prop and the tell that she is a projection in the council room.

Relationships

Odette — Her constant prop for controlling who speaks.
Epitome Tagg — His hand passes through it when he tries to seize it.
