Gurglers

The Infected

Crawler veterans transformed by the Gurgles into blood-spewing berserkers who charge their own trench line.

Story so far

Moments after the Buried Explosives break the pet charge at the Southern Front, an elf shouts "Gurglers in the trenches!" and rushes down the central trench pursued by about ten crawler veterans, all screaming, blood spewing from their mouths and eyes — comrades turned by the Gurgles infection carried in by the Juiced Rot Sticker Behemoth wave.

A mage fills that trench section with dirt, walling them off directly in front of Carl and Tran. Kristen Cronin shoves Carl aside and bakes the fill with her flamethrower; a dozen arms, legs, and claws tear free only to be burned and melted. Fallen-soldier notifications blink across Carl's interface. The entire episode takes a matter of seconds.
