Explosive charges laid beneath no-man's-land by the tunnel moles, blown early to stop the pet-bomb charge.
The Frothing Tunnel Moles laid an entire line of explosives beneath the ground in front of the Southern Front trenches only about two hours before the assault, intended for use later in the campaign. When the Juiced Rot Sticker Behemoths pile up against the mage-raised earthworks, Tran calls for his moles and orders the line blown.
The Moles vanish down holes spaced at regular intervals along the trench wall, return sooner than Carl expects, and the whole line detonates. Carl is physically lifted off the scaffolding; soldiers crash down all around; the sky goes completely black. Showers of dirt and pet guts stop at an invisible barrier, entombing the trench under hovering gore while mages shout and curse to keep the infected soil from falling on them. Tran afterward regrets having to spend the charges so early.
A buried line of charges whose detonation blackens the sky with dirt and gore and lifts men off their feet.
The emergency countermeasure that breaks the pet-bomb charge at the cost of a saved asset.
