Sprawling body of Ascendency gods, riddled with sub-pantheons, mysterious deaths, and a contest for the Ascendent throne.
Carl recognized Khepri's robes too late: they were the common attire of the gods and goddesses of the Ascendency Pantheon. Lots of clerics wear similar robes, but not with the same golden fringe.
The Announcer sketched the pantheon's internal politics around Khepri. Like many of the gods one may find roaming the halls of the Ascendency, Khepri is mostly ignored by the big players and only acknowledged when they need something from him, largely because he's a goddamned weirdo with a bug for a head. His patron Khnum mysteriously dropped dead a few days back, one of several deaths in that sub-pantheon, forcing Khepri into Adrasteia's service for protection. Khepri is rated a dubious candidate to claim the Ascendent throne; Adrasteia has an outside shot.
Its members favor flowing robes; the gods and goddesses are distinguished from ordinary clerics by golden fringe on the same garment.
The divine political body whose succession contest and mysterious deaths put Khepri in Vinata's reach.
