Nebulars

The Nebular colonies

A colonial people whose mass suicide is one of the disasters buried in the epilogue's news cycle.

Story so far

The Nebular colonies enter the story as a headline York scrolls past. Among the news competing for attention after Faction Wars - a new Prime Minister, a The Dream cruiser crashed onto Earth over Australia - is a mass suicide in one of the Nebular colonies.

None of it holds the feed for long. The story that dominates is a mantis system going boom, and the general fear that stars do not go nova without warning. That an entire colony killing itself can be a minor item is the clearest measure of how far the galaxy has come apart by the end of the book.

Role

A colonial people whose mass death barely registers against the epilogue's larger catastrophes.
