Story so far
Stored in a cloth case inside a server, the plastic headset automatically initiates a connection when plugged into the correct jack. Bernard Holland used it to speak with Silo One. Numbered jacks and incoming-call lights made it possible to distinguish and answer lines, and Lukas used line seventeen to call the neighboring silo.
The headset carried Lukas’s formal appointment conversation. Sensors in a shadow’s headset permit skin conductivity, pulse, and perspiration to be monitored during questioning. Lukas now connects Sims to the remote caller through the server headset.
