Wasteland Castle

The Wasteland · Gnome Castle · The Flying Junkyard

The Dirigible Gnomes' airborne fortress — a torn-off slab of land the size of three football fields, kept aloft by five colossal balloons.

Story so far

The Wasteland is the Air Quadrant castle the party must take: a jagged rectangular island ripped from the ground, roughly three football fields wide, held aloft by five enormous balloons under a magical shield and studded with ballistae, trebuchets, corrugated-metal shacks, and a central shingled house. Below it dangle chains, ropes, and round huts; moored to its sides are dozens of mismatched Mad-Max-style flying craft, from single-gnome hot-air balloons to bus-sized magic boats carrying Gnomish Knock-Knock fuel-air bombs. Covered in bouncing red-hatted Dirigible Gnomes, it brushes the dome ceiling — Carl studies it through Skarn's Enchanted Gnome FarSeerer and grasps how impossible it will be to reach without flight.

Appearance

A floating aircraft-carrier-sized slab of torn earth roofed with rusty corrugated shacks and weapons, slung beneath five vast balloons in a glowing net, trailing chains and moored junk-airships, shimmering under a magic shield.

Role

The Air Quadrant's fortress-castle, an unreachable flying gnome stronghold the party must bring down.

Relationships

Dirigible Gnomes — The airborne race that crews and defends it.
