Petrify Rock Bolt

Bolt of Petrify Rock Class · Petrify bolts · the paralyze bolts

Specialized crossbow bolts that petrify a rock-class creature for 60 seconds — Katia's tool to freeze the Maggie-possessed Chris.

Story so far

The Bolts of Petrify Rock Class are a set of ten specialized crossbow bolts Katia Grim receives in her emergency box from sponsor Princess Formidable. Fired from Hekla's legendary crossbow, each petrifies a rock-class creature for a 60-second countdown, leaving it conscious but immobile; a fresh bolt resets the timer. Katia uses them to repeatedly freeze the Maggie-possessed Igneous body of Chris Andrews 2, buying the party precious minutes to figure out what to do — though with only ten bolts (three minutes total once she'd spent several), time runs desperately short.

That Formidable sent *petrify* rather than cheaper kill bolts strikes the party as telling: someone wanted Chris kept alive.
