Story so far
Delivered in a Bronze Benefactor Box from the Valtay Corporation, the Neural Enhancer #275 (Variant 35.j) is a pill that permanently and irreversibly alters Carl's brain, installing a new interface upgrade: current elevation and airspeed. The system warns he lacks a proper Valtay Neural Interface and pitches him an "upgrade" at a Corporate Outreach Center. Initially underwhelmed, Carl swallows it ("Thanks, brain worm dudes") and finds the readouts baffling but potentially vital — after toggling through units he learns the Necropolis of Anser is a staggering ~9 kilometers tall, its air quadrant sitting near Everest-height above the water quadrant.
It's the second such Valtay pill he's taken, and their real utility keeps proving itself.
Appearance
An unremarkable pill identical to the previous Valtay enhancer, delivered from an ornate mechanical box bearing the Valtay logo.
Role
A Valtay brain-upgrade granting Carl altitude and speed telemetry, later crucial for gauging the tomb's scale.
