Earth Hobby Potion

Earth Hobby skill

A potion granting Matrix-like on-demand mastery of an Earth hobby — Katia's is engineering/mechanics; Donut's is the mysterious 'scutelliphily.'

Story so far

The Earth Hobby Potion gives a crawler uncanny, downloaded expertise in some Earth pastime. Katia Grim's grants deep, instinctive knowledge of engines and mechanical parts — the key to building the Royal Chariot — which she describes as knowing it "but not know, knowing it," like being wired into Wikipedia. Carl muses this hints the outside aliens may buy instant expertise like plastic surgery.

Princess Donut's hobby is the baffling "scutelliphily," which no one Carl asks can identify.

Appearance

A potion; grants a skill rather than a visible effect.

Role

A knowledge-granting potion, source of Katia's engineering genius.

Relationships

Katia Grim — Whose engine expertise it provides.
Royal Chariot — The build her potion-knowledge makes possible.
Princess Donut — Holds the mysterious 'scutelliphily' version.
