A doomed former crawler whose cookbook marginalia — chronicling his failed orbital suicide bombing — hands Carl the blueprint to kill Loita.
Crawler Coolie is the 19th-edition annotator of the Dungeon Anarchist's Cookbook, his notes surfacing to Carl across Stage 3. A crawler from the lost planet Qurux, Coolie recorded his attempts to strike back from the show trailers: transported to a ship in low orbit with an open, forcefield-only window, he resolved to make that view of his beautiful planet his last. He smuggled bugbear paste into his boots and detonated it in orbit, trusting his Blast Shield skill — but the two 'admins' aboard were holos, and the ship's forcefield contained the blast, so it neither broke apart nor killed anyone.
Trapped as gravity failed and the air thinned, he died gazing at Qurux, praying someone would avenge her. His crucial gift to Carl is the knowledge that these trailers seal shut once occupied and cannot be breached — the exact mechanic Carl exploits to murder Loita. Carl adds a 25th-edition note thanking Coolie, dedicating 'the first step' to him and to Bonnie.
Never physically described; a crawler of the planet Qurux, known only through his handwritten cookbook marginalia.
A dead predecessor crawler whose recorded sacrifice becomes Carl's tactical playbook and moral kin.
