Donut's Avoidance Attempt

Protect Carl from the final fight

Donut proposes fighting alone or abandoning the key route to spare Carl from his father's reconstructed memory.

Story so far

After recognizing the motorcycle, Donut becomes unnaturally brisk and focuses on loot, tokens, and Carl's need to rest. She claims the final fight will be trivial and says her new cards make her nearly indestructible.

She proposes entering the trailer alone. When Carl questions her, she even suggests skipping the key and fighting crawlers elsewhere during the remaining phase.

Carl recognizes the behavior as the same panic he felt when Ferdinand appeared on the seventh floor. Donut admits she is trying to deny the dungeon satisfaction and imitate Carl's resistance.

Carl thanks her, says she should remain herself, and insists they face the encounter together. Donut relaxes and joins him.

Appearance

A jeweled cat standing protectively between a wounded crawler and an ominous trailer.

Role

The attempt shows Donut actively applying Carl's lessons while revealing that support, not imitation, is what he needs.

Relationships

Princess Donut — She initiates the avoidance plan.
Carl — She tries to spare him and accepts his decision.
Carl's Father — His presence is the trauma she wants to avoid.
Butcher's Masquerade — Carl uses his Ferdinand panic as the comparison.
