Louis volunteers to kill Ines because he already has five player-killer skulls, only to become marked for death by Ysalte.

Story so far

Louis climbs with the interior strike team and enters the final hallway as one of four deckmasters. When Carl renders Ines unconscious, he pushes forward before anyone else can act.

He explains that the others should delay earning player-killer skulls as long as possible. After apologizing to a woman he never met, he kills her so the mass-rescue plan can continue.

A spinning divine mark appears above him immediately. Ines's celestial patron has been angered and is coming specifically for revenge.

Appearance

A shaken crawler with five skull markers and a new spinning divine spiral above his head.

Role

Louis absorbs the moral and mechanical burden of killing Ines and becomes Ysalte's target.

Relationships

Sister Ines Quiteria — He delivers the fatal blow.

Ysalte — Her revenge mark targets him.

Carl — He takes the kill after Carl incapacitates her.

Samantha — She remains intensely attached to him during the assault.
