Ordered Token Enforcement

Sequential deckmaster activation

Token holders must be defeated in numerical order; a skipped opponent remains frozen until the previous fleeing target is resolved.

Story so far

Imani's seventh opponent successfully uses a Flee card and escapes into Detroit. When she approaches token eight, that deckmaster remains incorporeal and frozen.

The response proves squads cannot simply abandon a difficult or missing opponent and continue up the chain. Imani must search the city for the escaped seventh holder before token eight will activate.

Chris's scouting also finds the final area sealed by a giant vending machine that accepts all nine tokens before opening.

Appearance

A numbered enemy chain with token seven fleeing while token eight remains locked and translucent.

Role

The rule prevents route skipping and turns escape effects into potentially severe time losses.

Relationships

Imani — Her fleeing seventh opponent reveals the rule.
Flee Card — The card creates the unresolved step.
Nine-Token Vending Gate — The final gate enforces full collection.
