Earth Memory Collision Cascade

Traffic Cascade · Memory Traffic Collapse

Physical vehicles striking crawlers, monsters, or displaced objects produce expanding pileups across the eighth floor's populated Earth memories, rapidly making roads unusable near stairwells.

Story so far

Carl initially avoids pedestrians and traffic because the Iron Tangle taught him how one disturbed vehicle can trigger a much larger failure. Donut and Elle instead argue for deliberate roadblocks far from saferooms to control where the inevitable crashes form.

Reports confirm that a pink Nykur has already caused an icy pileup near Katia's safe area, while Interstate 5 traffic is failing near Imani and Elle. In Havana, crashes and smoke spread from several directions, possibly accelerated by Samantha, forcing Carl to abandon careful movement and hurry toward the second stairwell.

Appearance

Long chains of crashed cars, buses, scooters, smoke, and floating replay passengers spreading down city roads.

Role

The cascade is an emergent floor-wide hazard that can trap crawlers or be redirected as a crude road-clearing tactic.

Relationships

Earth Memory Object Rules — Those rules give vehicles and other replayed objects dangerous physical force.

Samantha — Her uncontrolled scouting may contribute to Havana's first crashes.

Princess Donut — She proposes deliberately starting a pileup at a safer distance.
