Nekhebit is a long-forgotten vulture goddess, known on The Iron Tangle only through the lore of Hekla's looted Scavenger Mother of Mothers crossbow. Jealous and terrible, she was worshipped by the elf mothers until they abandoned her for Apito, the Oak Goddess; enraged and blaming the male-dominated high elf court for turning her followers away, she cursed their seed — creating the Fae Diaspora, the dozens of elf and fairy breeds now scattered across the universe. The crossbow, a female-only weapon that empowers women-heavy parties, was said to be her gift to her last faithful warrior guardian.
