Scavenger Mother Crossbow

Story so far

The Enchanted Repeating Crossbow of the Scavenger Mother of Mothers is a unique legendary weapon, Hekla's signature arm, which Katia Grim loots from her corpse after accidentally killing her (only the killer may loot the body). Gold-hued yet oddly light, inlaid with carvings of a vulture, it was supposedly gifted to the last warrior guardian of the forgotten vulture goddess Nekhebit. It can only be wielded by a female, and its power scales with a woman-heavy party: +25% damage and firing speed for every female in the party up to thirty — explaining why Hekla surrounded herself with women.

It never runs out of basic ammo (buffet enchantment), boosts base damage 1.5x more than a standard crossbow via strength+level, grants +15 Dexterity and +10 Strength, and casts Birth Defect on monsters that spawn or birth others. Fired full-auto it's like a ranged chainsaw; less devastating in Katia's hands than Hekla's, but Carl immediately schemes to maximize it.

Appearance

A large, deceptively light repeating crossbow, gold in color but plastic-feeling to the touch, inlaid with carvings of a vulture creature.

Role

A unique, woman-scaling legendary crossbow, now Katia's signature ranged weapon.
