character

Madison

the HR woman · the human resources NPC

The Iron Tangle's human-resources NPC, cracked open by Carl to expose the floor's traps — then lynched by her own furious dwarves and gremlins.

Story so far

Madison, the Iron Tangle's human-resources NPC whom Carl earlier interrogated (via Herot's Worn Path Method) to expose the Station Mimic and Kravyad traps, meets a grim end off-screen. Fire Brandy tells Carl that once word of the floor's true cruelty spread — sparked when Tizquick revealed his daughter had been killed — the dwarves and gremlins turned on their own management: they built a stand and a noose and hanged Madison, bringing her body to Brandy to burn in the sheol fire. Carl reflects that her CHARACTER may have deserved it, but the NPC playing it did not — a small, bleak sign of the floor's NPCs waking to their own unreality.

Appearance
