The Ladies Love It

Odette's show

Odette's talk show, the appointment that outranks a screaming severed head and delivers worse news than it airs.

Story so far

The booking drives the whole chapter. Carl refuses to deal with Samantha properly because they are about to go on Odette's show, which is enough to make Mordecai simply look at him. Zev transfers the pair out on schedule, routing them through the Security Checkpoint first.

They reach the Production Trailer with a few minutes to air. Odette is not yet in costume and says so, but she has come backstage to say something more important than the segment. The show itself has not started by the chapter's end; what happens in its green room — the news that Beatrice is alive — matters more than anything scheduled to be broadcast.

Appearance

Not seen on air in this chapter; known only through its backstage — a storm-rocked trailer, a host out of costume, and a countdown of minutes.

Role

The talk show Carl and Donut are contracted to appear on, and the pretext that puts them within reach of Odette's revelation.

Relationships

Odette — Its host, still out of costume with minutes to air.
Carl — Uses the booking as a reason to postpone dealing with Samantha, and walks into far worse news.
Zev — Handles the transfer and the pre-show logistics.
