Story so far

Carl has known for some time that Princess Donut and Zev have a secret system of communication, and his assumption is that it runs through the Social Media Board — which he considers dangerous precisely because the board is public. If that is how they are doing it, everything is out there for people to find and decode, and if this intergalactic internet is anything like the one back home, sooner or later someone will.

The fear acquires teeth later in the chapter, when Donut admits she has been smuggling The Valtay secret agents to Zev and the Borant Emancipation Front. Whatever channel carried those arrangements is now a liability Carl cannot see or close.

Role

The public forum the audience lives on — and the likeliest, worst possible hiding place for Donut's secrets.
