Goodwill Ballroom

Goodwill Ballrooms

Paired diplomatic rooms let separated groups see, hear, and lightly touch one another without sharing a vulnerable physical location.

Story so far

The crawler ballroom occupies the castle's fourth floor, while the hunter equivalent lies on the second. They appear identical and superimpose occupants through a diplomatic effect, though each group remains physically in its own protected room.

Samantha says goodwill ballrooms are common for ambassadors and dignitaries because they permit social contact without assassination. A light touch is possible despite physical separation. She first met her king in such a room and had to wait until after the event for unrestricted contact.

Appearance

A lavish ballroom magically overlaid with a distant twin, causing guests from both rooms to appear together.

Role

The room enforces the party's no-violence premise while allowing convincing cross-faction interaction.

Relationships

The Butcher's Masquerade — Its hunters and crawlers occupy paired goodwill ballrooms.
Samantha — She recognizes the room type from meeting her king.
The High Elf Castle — Its distant second- and fourth-floor rooms form the pair.
