The Selva

The Jungle

The jungle beyond Zockau's borders, where map dots vanish and Carl collapses among unknown crawlers.

Story so far

The Selva is the jungle region immediately outside Zockau. Its border is a hard line: the moment Carl and Princess Donut jumped across it, every dot on his map snapped away as if the city were sealed, and looking back the street mere feet behind him was completely opaque. Hunters cannot leave the city, though Carl did not know whether their weapons could still fire past the boundary — a level-70 crossbow had already put two bleeding bolts through him.

He dragged himself toward the trees, healing but unable to push the barbed bolts out, and collapsed as his vision went to static. An enormous orange pet dot crackling with heat came out of the woods, and blue crawler dots appeared beside it. A familiar voice mocked his level and the knife symbols over his head, and a woman refused a request to feed on him, promising Princess Donut she would help.

Appearance

Dense trees at the edge of a ruined city, silent and dark, cut off from the city by an opaque border.
