Story so far
At the end of the previous floor, Katia opened the Gate of the Feral Gods onto the ninth-floor city of Larracos, sending a frothing mass of sharks and jellyfish flooding into the metropolis. The stunt earned her a huge amount of experience — she was level 44 going in and level 52 afterward — along with a haul of loot boxes.
It is also the act that dragged Carl before the liaison Orren and drew the interest of the Native Species Agency. As Quasar put it, the admins are furious yet actually want Carl to keep the artifact, because chaos on that scale is exactly what the audience pays for.
