The level thirty-four IT offices are ransacked, with an abandoned security station and signs of fire and attempted entry outside Jimmy’s refuge.

Story so far

Juliette’s earlier exploration established an IT department on level thirty-four with working lights and at least one powered computer amid emptied drawers, overturned filing cabinets, and scattered paper. She made five return climbs to IT in three weeks.

The later account of Jimmy’s youth shows a person in a complete cleaning suit emerging from IT onto the crowded landing during the evacuation, when the offices beyond the security gate were already in disarray. Now Solo (Jimmy) finds charred remnants of an old fire in the hallway outside his refuge. Its steel door bears scratches and dents, someone has tried to pry the external keypad off the wall, the offices have been ransacked, and the security station stands unmanned.
