Lykos
The underground Red mining colony on Mars where Darrow was born, a warren of tunnels, townships, and taverns.
Story so far
Lykos is one of the oldest Red mining colonies beneath the surface of Mars, home to twenty-four clans including Darrow's Lambda and rival Gamma. Its people live in hivelike townships of homes carved into old mine walls, ringing the Common with its taverns, gallows, and holoCan, all beneath the Pot where their Gray keepers dwell. Deep below lie the helium-3 tunnels the Reds drill; above lies a barren surface none of them has ever seen.
It is a place of song, dance, drink, hunger, and quiet oppression.
Appearance
A subterranean warren of tunnelroads and rock-carved townships lit by dangling yellow lights, centered on the tiered circular Common with its gallows, beneath the domed Pot fortress; the surface above is barren wasteland.
Role
The underground mining colony that is Darrow's home and the story's opening setting.
