Sol Consciousness Blackout

Glitch · Missing time · System-wide hallucination · Nonlocalized consciousness event

Every mind across Sol loses nearly three minutes in a simultaneous vision of matter and thought when the Tempest fires on Pallas.

Story so far

At the instant the Heart of the Tempest fires its USM field projector at Pallas, people throughout the Sol system experience the same class of interruption. From Earth and Mars to the outer science stations, consciousness dissolves into overwhelming awareness of molecules, fractal surfaces, neural rhythm, and perception itself. Nearly three minutes pass without being felt, leaving survivors weak, sweating, weeping, or unable to act.

Cameron Tur argues that the event did not travel outward from the Tempest but occurred nonlocally everywhere at once, like a plate striking an entire pond rather than a pebble starting ripples. Quantum creation and annihilation increase throughout the system, and controlled entanglement structures collapse. No one knows whether Laconia intended it, but Tur believes it cannot be shielded against and probably struck the Tempest's crew as well.

Appearance

An invisible system-wide interruption perceived as molecules, neural pulses, fractal detail, lost time, and the collapse of ordinary scale rather than as a visible astronomical object.

Role

The blackout is the first sign that the Tempest's projector disturbs normal space and consciousness on a scale larger than its physical target.

Relationships

Heart of the Tempest — The event coincides exactly with the Heart of the Tempest firing its projector in the ship's own frame of reference.
Cameron Tur — Cameron Tur develops the nonlocal explanation and judges shielding impossible.
Camina Drummer — Camina Drummer turns the possibility that Laconians also lost consciousness into a new tactical opportunity.
