Palisade Security Group

Palisade · Palisade Security

GrayCris’s hired security service destroys itself by escalating against a Company gunship, triggering retaliation that breaks its client’s ability to threaten Preservation.

Story so far

Palisade operates as GrayCris’s contracted security force during its campaign against Mensah, Preservation, and Murderbot. It deploys a self-aware virus against a Company gunship; Murderbot crashes itself into the attack and nearly destroys its memory archive while helping the vessel’s bot pilot resist.

Palisade then escalates beyond standard operational limits and attacks another expensive gunship belonging to the bond company that formerly owned Murderbot. The Company answers systematically, destroying Palisade Security and GrayCris’s operational facilities. The retaliation leaves GrayCris too poor, dangerous, and untrustworthy to secure normal licensed contractors, sharply reducing the assessed threat to Mensah.

Appearance

Palisade has no single physical form; it is represented by contracted strike teams, security ships, autonomous malware, licensed weapons, and facilities ultimately destroyed by a larger corporate power.

Role

Palisade is the proxy force whose overreach brings ruin on itself and GrayCris. Its destruction explains why Murderbot now considers organized attacks on Mensah unlikely.

Relationships

GrayCris — GrayCris hires Palisade until the security service’s reckless escalation provokes catastrophic retaliation against both organizations.
Murderbot — Murderbot helps a Company bot pilot fight Palisade’s self-aware virus and understands exactly why its later tactical choices were fatal.
Mensah — Palisade’s destruction lowers the institutional threat to Mensah, though it comes only after GrayCris operatives nearly assassinate her.
