Story so far
The Pit is a heavily secured underground prison facility in North Carolina, reached through an armed entrance and a deep guarded elevator. Its concrete cells, green-tinted observation windows, armed staff, and stripped civilian rights make it a purpose-built place for dangerous prisoners whose bodies or sentences make ordinary incarceration impossible.
Clarissa Mao is held there because her modifications cannot safely be removed, alongside inmates such as the voluntarily modified Konecheck. Amos Burton enters only as a visitor, but after accelerated asteroids strike Earth the facility goes into emergency lockdown. Its depth may protect the people inside from immediate impact effects, but it also leaves Amos sealed in a prison when he needs to leave the planet.
Appearance
A low concrete entrance above ground leading to deep metal corridors, armored guards, green-tinted cell windows, harsh caged lights, medical cells, and heavily bolted doors.
Role
The Pit is Clarissa's prison and Amos's accidental refuge during the opening catastrophe on Earth.
