Story so far

Hecate Base is a major Martian Navy installation tunneled into Olympus Mons, with broad corridors, base housing, checkpoints, bars, administrative centers, and a culture shaped by deployments and military aspiration. It is where Alex Kamal trained and served, and he returns to find that people know him as the Rocinante's famous pilot.

Behind the familiar rituals, the base holds a dangerous secret. Commander Winston Duarte acknowledges that the Navy may no longer know where its assets are, and the programmer Duarte names as a source is found dead in base housing before Alex can speak to him.
