Filip rejects Naomi's plea to choose against violence, repeating Marco's accusations as his mother prepares an escape he will mistake for suicide.
Filip is sent to speak with his confined mother after Cyn fears she may kill herself. He confronts Naomi Nagata over her warning to the Rocinante, hearing it as a choice of Holden over the Belt and the family Marco has constructed around him.
Naomi tells Filip that the real divide is between those who seek more violence and those who seek less, and that even now he can choose what his actions mean. Raw with the abandonment Marco has taught him to feel, Filip calls her a traitor and leaves. Naomi tells him he deserved better parents, then proceeds with an escape whose appearance will reinforce his belief that she has taken her own life.
A young Belter man growing into adult strength, with dark skin, curlier hair, Marco's striking eyes and mouth, and stubble along his jaw; anger and hurt sharpen his expression.
Filip is Marco and Naomi's son, still vulnerable enough to need his mother's judgment but trained to hear her independence as betrayal.
