Story so far
Moved by Sevro's hanging and his declaration that he is no longer afraid, Victra comes to him red-eyed in the infirmary and, alone, proposes—jamming his House Jupiter ring onto her pinky and reversing the rejection she gave him in the Belt. Seven nights later she marries him in the Morning Star's hangar, Darrow—whom she asks to give her away—unable to speak for emotion. Though some Sons grumble at a Gold wedding their Red leader, Victra has bought their respect with the blood she shed storming the ship at Ilium.
In the ceremony her every sharp edge dulls into a gentleness only Sevro draws out; and when he insists she keep her elder House Julii name, she refuses—'Yesterday I was a Julii. Today I'd rather be a Barca.' She becomes Victra of House Barca, radiant and, for once, safe, dancing and laughing through a fleet-spanning celebration.
Appearance
Tall and powerfully-muscled, softened for her wedding, white-gold hair shot with gray, knife-edge cheekbones and golden eyes gone gentle; in borrowed finery raided from Antonia's closet.
Role
Darrow's sworn sister and Sevro's bride; the Julii heir who chooses love over fear and founds House Barca at his side.
Relationships
Sevro — Her groom, whom she proposes to and marries, taking his name and finding in him a refuge from her own sharpness.
Darrow — The brother she asks to give her away, too moved to speak when he accepts.
Antonia — Her ruined sister, whose closet she raids for wedding shoes even as their blood-feud lingers.
