Europa's ancient leviathan king is chained up for Fá's feast and butchered in the Holy Kill.
Cyaxares is the three-hundred-year-old leviathan called the king of Europa, captured by Jarl Gherala and raised from the sea on an immense gilded gravskiff. The colossal black-and-gold creature has a sharklike central face, lidless milky eyes, a swollen whale-like body, and finlike appendages that end in smaller eyed, beaked mouths.
At the Holy Kill, Gherala offers Cyaxares to Fá under the rule that only kings may kill kings. Fá climbs the chained creature, stabs it repeatedly with the Trident of Ignaeus, and takes the glory of the kill while enslaved Reds and Brown butchers are sent to carve the body. Lyria hears sorrow in its final wail and sees the death as a wound to Europa itself. Cyaxares's killing turns the feast into a declaration that Fá's conquest reaches even the moon's oldest living symbol.

Cyaxares is the revered natural king Fá murders to enact ownership over conquered Europa.
