The Belt's premier heavy-engineering corporation, capable of moving asteroids, building stations, and constructing interstellar ships.
Tycho Manufacturing and Engineering Concern is one of the Belt's earliest major corporations. Its engineers and ships once captured a comet and placed it in stable orbit as a water resupply point, then embedded huge reaction drives into Ceres and Eros to spin those asteroids into usable habitats. The company has become the answer for enormous, technically improbable Belt work when the client can afford it.
Its headquarters, Tycho Station, is currently constructing the massive generation ship Nauvoo for a century-long Mormon journey toward Tau Ceti. The company also gives Fred Johnson a safe industrial base from which to receive Holden's crew and their newly disguised warship. Its alignment in the new war remains unstated, but its sheer infrastructure makes it a consequential place for any Belt power seeking mobility, manufacturing, or shelter.
The organization is represented by asteroid-scale construction, counter-rotating stations, immense mechanized waldoes, specialized engineering fleets, and manufacturing spaces measured in millions of cubic meters.
Tycho is the industrial power that makes the Belt's most audacious physical projects possible and hosts Johnson's refuge.
