Helios

Helios au Lux · Truth Knight · ArchKnight of the Olympics

The imperious ArchKnight of the Olympic Knights, who presides over Romulus's trial and, bound by the Fates' charge, pronounces the death sentence.

Story so far

Helios au Lux, the Arab ArchKnight of the Olympic Council—falcon-faced, bald but for a clasped white mustache—presides over Romulus's trial in Sungrave's Hall of Justice, his blunt voice 'a hammer, lacking the nuance for duplicity.' He had privately agreed with Dido that the negligence charge alone was warranted, expecting a clean impeachment. But when the White child Chance invokes the Fates' archaic right, Helios is bound by his office to add a charge of arch treason over Dido's furious objection—'It is the purview of the Fates... now sit down.' Regretful but dutiful, he puts the two simple questions to Romulus, and when the Moon Lord confesses, Helios has no choice: he finds Romulus guilty and orders him seized and prepared 'to return to the dust.'

Appearance

An imperious, long-necked Arab Gold, bald but for a long white mustache clasped with two iron rings, in the brilliant white cape of the Truth Knight; falcon-eyed beneath his cowl.
