character

Pax

Pax au Andromedus · Pax au Augustus

Darrow's son, who tends Ephraim's wound and steadies himself as the Queen seizes the ship and Ephraim crashes it to save them.

Story so far

Aboard the fleeing Hornet, Pax shows a healer's and soldier's poise: he cuts open Ephraim's shirt and seals the chest wound with resFlesh, keeps the thief conscious, and offers to fly when Ephraim fades. When the Queen hails them and seizes the ship by remote, turning it back toward the Syndicate, Pax grasps the danger at once. Thrown against the bulkhead and bleeding from the forehead as the ship banks, he obeys Ephraim's order to strap into crash webbing beside Electra, bracing as the dying thief blows the engines and sends them spiraling down into a ruined crater city—still the composed heir even in free fall.

Appearance

A lean boy of about ten with dusty gold hair, rose-gold eyes and a laser-bare head, grubby from captivity; a fresh bleeding forehead cut over the healing gash.

Role

Darrow and Mustang's heir; the composed boy who tends his rescuer and braces for the crash meant to save him.

Relationships

Ephraim — The dying thief he tends and obeys as he crashes the ship to keep them from the Queen.
Electra — His fellow captive, braced beside him for the fall.
Queen — The Syndicate ruler who seizes the ship to reclaim him.
