Gaia's ancient, devoted Stained Obsidian bodyguard, who guides Lysander through the tunnels only to be maimed and left behind when the boy betrays the plan.
Goroth is the aged Stained Obsidian who has served Gaia au Raa for a lifetime—a hunched gray golem with a screaming-skull tattoo, gold ear-disks, and an uncut white beard, so devoted that he kisses her brow in farewell despite her scolding. Trusted to know Sungrave's secret tunnels by memory in the dark, he guides Lysander and Pytha toward the Dust Cells to free Romulus. But sensing Lysander's hesitation, he turns—and Lysander, choosing Dido's side, attacks him.
Even one-armed and ancient, Goroth is uncannily fast and nearly overpowers the young Lune, crushing his hand to splinters before Lysander severs his hand at the wrist. Bleeding and outfought, Goroth rolls back into the tunnel shadows and vanishes, leaving his severed hand and his blood behind as the evidence that damns Gaia's plot—now a maimed Stained loose in the walls that Dido's bloodstalkers must hunt.
An ancient, hunched Stained Obsidian, boulder-headed with beetle-black eyes deep in a folded face, chipped pointed ears hung with egg-sized gold disks of the lightning dragon, a long uncut white beard tucked into his belt over a gray scorosuit.
Gaia's devoted Stained bodyguard; the tunnel-guide betrayed and maimed by Lysander, now a hunted fugitive in Sungrave's walls.
