Ava

Lyria's pretty, hopeful married older sister, holding their broken family together in Camp 121.

Story so far

Ava is Lyria's older sister, the beauty of the family and its anchor in Assimilation Camp 121. Married to the good, absent Varon—gone to the Free Legions with their brothers Aengus and Dagan—she cooks for the household, works the slaughter yards to fill the pot, and raises her children, including the blind boy Liam and baby Ella. Gentle and faithful where Lyria is bitter, she trusts the Reaper and the Republic will yet save them from the Red Hand, and she accepts small gifts (garlic, fine blue shoes) from a soldier despite Lyria's suspicion.

On the night the Red Hand lands, she frets and arms Lyria with a frying pan, unaware that her brother Tiran has already gone out to his death.

Appearance

A pretty Gamma Red woman, worn but warm, rust-haired like her kin; the family's beauty, per their late father, where Lyria has the temper.

Role

Lyria's sister and the emotional center of their household; the faithful foil to Lyria's cynicism.

Relationships

Lyria — Her sharp-tongued younger sister, with whom she shares the burden of their broken family.
Liam — Her blind young son, whom Lyria dotes on.
Tiran — Her young brother, killed by the Red Hand the night they raid the camp.
