Tiran

Lyria's gentle, book-writing younger brother, gunned down by the Red Hand as he plays man of the house.

Story so far

Tiran is Lyria's remaining brother in Camp 121, the tallest of the family but frighteningly thin, softest of them all and most eager to prove himself. He works the burning trash stacks for a token an hour and writes little books of castles and flying knights for the camp children, dreaming of turning sixteen and leaving for the Free Legions like his idol the Reaper. On the night ships land at the camp, he insists on going out alone as 'the man of the house,' bidding Lyria mind the family.

She follows and watches from hiding as the scar-faced Red Hand commander and her gunmen cut him down—half his head gone—crying 'Justice to Gamma! Death to the collaborators!' His murder shatters Lyria's world.

Appearance

A tall but frighteningly thin Gamma Red youth, nearly sixteen, with a tangle of wet hair he whips about; gentle-faced, stooped like a curled weed over his little books.

Role

Lyria's tender younger brother; his murder by the Red Hand is the inciting tragedy of her arc.

Relationships

Lyria — His older sister, who mocks his bravado yet loves him and helplessly witnesses his death.
Ava — His sister, whose home he tries to protect the night of the raid.
